Choosing the AI yourself
You never have to: Crossleaf Standard is included and translates everything. But the premium models are there by name, per book or per chapter, for a reader who wants to pick.
Most readers never open this. Crossleaf Standard is included in your membership, it translates every chapter, and it decides for itself what to translate each language with — see Which AI translates my book?.
This page is for the reader who would rather choose.
Where the choice lives
Choose the AI sits on the book page, under the chapter list, and in the reader's toolbar. They are the same control, and your choice is remembered on this device until you change it back. Each premium model is listed by name with its price in leaves for the chapters you have ticked; prices differ by more than ten to one, so it is worth trying a couple on the same chapter.
- Favorites (Settings) are starred and listed first, after any models recommended for the book's language.
- Recommended for Korean / Japanese / Chinese appears when we have tested models on that language; see Sixteen models, one Korean chapter for how that list is made, and the Japanese and Chinese rounds beside it.
- All models lists the full catalog.
Living with two versions
Each chapter's version records what produced it, so you can compare renderings side by side and pin the one you prefer. A premium chapter is quoted in leaves before it runs, and you can go back to Standard for the next chapter at any time.
