Eight Korean novels about being transmigrated into a novel

Eight Korean novels where the lead is transmigrated into a novel or game they've already read, from the one who wrote the book to the pair who beat it.

Half of Korean fiction now opens with someone waking up in a book they finished last night. These eight novels are the ones where being transmigrated into a novel is the whole engine, ordered from the lead who knows the story best to the pair who treat it as a game to be beaten.

Transmigrated into a novel, best-informed first

The Novel's Extra (소설 속 엑스트라)

Kim Hajin wrote a web novel about heroes and monsters, never finished it, and wakes up inside it as an extra so minor he didn't bother giving him a plot, enrolled at Cube, the academy where the real hero Kim Suho is about to shine. He knows every twist he wrote, and none of the ones somebody else added while he was gone. It comes first because nobody else on this list has this much information or trusts it this little.

The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion (그녀가 공작저로 가야 했던 사정)

Eunha Park dies and wakes as Raeliana McMillan, a side character whose one job in the novel is to be poisoned by her fiancé so the plot can move on. She skips that by offering Duke Noah Volstaire Wynknight, the male lead, a deal: she'll pose as his fiancée and keep quiet about a secret only a reader could know. It's the rofan version of the trope at its cleanest, a small character bargaining her way out of a footnote.

Roxana (여주인공의 오빠를 지키는 방법)

She wakes as Roxana Agriche, a daughter of the most vicious criminal family in a reverse-harem novel she read, in a house where the children are trained to hurt each other. When her father drags home Cassis Pedelian, the heroine's older brother, as a prisoner, Roxana sees the only door out and decides to keep him alive. It belongs here because the survival is mutual, and the book never lets you forget that she was raised by the villains she's using.

Miss Not-So Sidekick (구경하는 들러리양)

Hyejung read novels to survive her job, and wakes as Latte Ectrie, a minor villainess in her favorite one, with the three male leads and the heroine about to start their romance in front of her. Her plan is to sit in the audience with snacks and watch the book she loves happen. It's on the list for the comedy of a transmigrator who wants no part in the plot and keeps getting cast anyway.

A Villain's Will to Survive (악당은 살고 싶다)

Kim Woojin helped build a video game, and wakes as Deculein von Grahan-Yukline, the mid-game villain who dies in nearly every playthrough, a cold professor with a long list of people who want him gone. He decides to play the villain well enough to live. Also published as The Villain Wants to Live, it earns its place for making a hated man's reputation into the puzzle.

The Extra's Academy Survival Guide (아카데미에서 살아남기)

He wakes as Ed Rothstaylor, a third-rate villain in a game about Sylvania Academy, already disowned by his family and thrown out of the dormitory. All he wants is a scholarship and a quiet graduation, so he moves into the woods and stays away from the leads, who keep finding him. It's here because the plan is to never touch the plot, and the plot notices anyway.

Surviving the Game as a Barbarian (게임 속 바바리안으로 살아남기)

Hansu wakes as Bjorn Yandel, a barbarian in the labyrinth city of Rafdonia, inside an indie dungeon game he'd played to death. Minutes later another barbarian admits out loud that he's a transported human too, and is executed on the spot as an evil spirit, so Hansu keeps his mouth shut. It belongs here as the grimmest entry, a game world where the transmigrator's advantage is knowing the maps and the rule is never, ever say so.

Ending Maker (엔딩 메이커)

Kang Jin-ho and Hong Yoo-hee were first and second on the server of a game whose canon ending is the end of the world. They wake as Jude Bayer, a noble under a fatal curse, and Cordelia Chase, a magic prodigy, in the kingdom of Plaidies, and set out to force a happy ending the game never offered. It's last because it's two transmigrators instead of one, and their bickering partnership is the point.
